Old Journal
I just finished reading aloud to Alyssa some entries from a journal that goes back to my college days, over ten years ago. God, help me. The sheer word count of self-indulgent drivel was baffling and disheartening. I spent so much time whining about girls--worse, praying fundamentalist whiney prayers about girls. What a waste.
I asked Alyssa if, assuming we ever have kids, there's any way we can save our children from this mindlessness. We're convinced we probably can't, that it's just a phase everybody goes through. Sad, but true.
